The
rider of a quad bike in the early hours of Thursday morning in
Luxembourg City, was not only injured after crashing having hijacked a
bus lane, but also had his licence revoked.
After
arriving at Centre Hamilius at about 4:30am, the rider did not turn
left as the road signs indicate, but instead continued straight on
using the bus lane on Avenue Monterey.
However,
as the rider approached the roadworks, someone during the night had
moved a roadworks protection fence across the bus lane.
The
quad bike struck the fence with force throwing the rider from his
quad to the ground.
Emergency
services quickly arrived at the scene and administered first-aid.
A
subsequent breathalyser test then confirmed that the rider was well
above the legal alcohol limit, and his licence was immediately
revoked.
