(CS) Registration is now open for Luxembourg City's Anne Beffort prize, awarded to a person, not-for-profit, club or institution working to promote equal opportunities between men and women.
The prize is named after Anne Beffort, who was Luxembourg's first woman to obtain a PhD, together with Marie Speyer, and the co-founder of a girls' secondary school in the capital, which opened in 1909 and where she taught as the first female high school teacher in the country.
Founded in 2003, the “Prix Anne Beffort” comes with a prize money of 2,500 euros to benefit the winner.
Candidates have to operate out of Luxembourg City and can be individuals, not-for-profits and other groups or institutions.
Past winners include Girls in Tech Luxembourg, Planning familial and Femmes en détresse.
Applicants should send supporting documents to the “Collège des Bourgmestre et Échevins de la Ville de Luxembourg” at the “Service Égalité” in 9 Boulevard F.D. Roosevelt, L-2450 Luxembourg.
The deadline is September 30.
