(CS) With a sunny weekend forecast for Luxembourg, the capital is set to be busy with the Schueberfouer, open shops on Sunday and the annual “Braderie” outdoor sale on Monday.
Public transport is free throughout the weekend, with shops opening for the traditional Fouer Sunday on August 30. In Luxembourg City stores open their doors from 2pm to 6pm. Also open, however, are the Auchan shopping centre, Centre Espace in Beggen, the Belle Etoile and the Shopping Arena in Strassen. For opening hours click here.
On Monday then, some 400 retailers in the City centre and the area near the central train station will put up stalls in the streets for the annual “Braderie” outdoor sale.
This will cause some traffic disruptions, with only bus lines 1/125, 16, 18 and 120, 172, 192 and 194 circulating between the Gare and the City centre. Please see the map below for bus stop alterations.
The weather could put something of a dampener on the event, as currently rain and clouds are forecast for August 31.
The “Braderie” is not limited to the City centre though, as shopping centres elsewhere in the country are also taking part in the seasonal sale, including Auchan shopping centre, the Belle Etoile, Centre Espace in Beggen, the Shopping Arena in Strassen and the City Concorde.
