Luxembourg's financial regulator has issued a public warning about the activities of a company named Cathay DuPont.
In a warning notice issued on its website, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) said Cathay DuPont was "unknown" to the regulator.
"The CSSF informs the public that Cathay DuPont is unknown to it and that the entity has not been granted any authorisation to provide investment or other financial services in or from Luxembourg," the statement said.
Cathay DuPont claims to have offices at Business Center Glacis, 5, rue Goethe, L-1637 Luxemburg, the warning said.
Cathay DuPont states on its website that it is a full-service brokerage firm launched in 1979 with offices in Tokyo and Taipei.
