Wort's on – Weekend events
While the start of the 675th edition of the Schueberfouer is the main event this weekend, you can also discover glass art in Asselborn, go on a virtual tour of the historic Pfaffenthal, hear local bands in Machtum or head to Rotondes for its Congés Annulés programme.

CINEMA
August 21: What's Up, Doc?, Cinémathèque, 8.30pm
With the Cinémathèque still on its reduced summer schedule there is only one screening this weekend, on Friday evening. Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neil star in Peter Bogdanovich comedy What's Up, Doc? about four people staying at the same San Francisco hotel, where plenty of mix-ups lead to lots of slapstick and confusion.
August 23: B-Movie, Rotondes, 8pm
B-Movie is a film about West Berlin in the 1980s, its punk and pop cultures and everything in between. A collage of TV and film footage, the film showcases the frenzy of the decade that culminated in the reunification of the city. For details click here.
MUSIC
August 21: Rock de Schleek, Machtum, from 4pm
The outdoor festival season in Luxembourg is not yet over, with Rock de Schleek bringin live music to sleepy Moselle village Machtum. The line-up includes a mix of bands from the Grand Duchy and the Greater Region. For the full line-up visit the event Facebook page.
August 21: Ghost Culture, Rotondes, 9pm
London-based artist James Greenwood, aka Ghost Culture, comes to Luxembourg with his eponymous debut album. Music magazine Pitchfork describes Ghost Culture's sound as “an unusual balance between muscular grooves and whispered intimacy.” Ghost Culture is supported by Cleveland and a DJ set by A Boy Named Seb. August 22: Prefuse 73, Rotondes, 9pm
Electronica artist Guillermo S Herren has returned to his Prefuse 73 moniker after a four-year near complete absence. But it looks like he used to the time work on plenty of material with three releases in 2015. Additionally, the night features a DJ set by Herr2003. For more information click here.
August 23: Big Four, Neimënster, 11.30am
The Big Four jazz quartet on Sunday morning performs as part of Neimënster's jazz brunch offer. The music is free, but reservations for the brunch are recommended to avoid disappointment. Read more here.
EXHIBITIONS
August 21 – 23: 6th International Glass Festival, Asselborn
Hosted at the Atelier d'Art du Verre Emeringen at Maison 180 in Asselborn (Google Maps yields a result with this search). Glass artists and students will present their craft at the festival and exhibition. Read more on the event Facebook page.
August 22 & 23: LuxPlaymoDays, Salle des Fêtes Clemency
If you're looking to add to your Playmobil collection or simply take a look at the impressive collections of aficionados of the plastic toy system, head to Clemency's Salle des Fêtes et des Sports. The fair is open Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
August 23: Virtual reality tour of the Pfaffenthal, MHVL, 2pm
The Luxembourg City history museum in Rue du St Esprit is offering virtual reality tours of the Pfaffenthal as it was in 1867 on Sunday between 2pm and 6pm. Based on the video game Second Life, users can create an avatar and go for a walk through the historic valley, during which they will meet a number of characters who explain more about Luxembourg City during this time. Simply ask at reception if you're interested in checking out the experience.
