A driver was injured after a dramatic accident on Tuesday evening when a car crashed and flipped over on its roof ending up in a field.
The incident occurred at about 6.50pm between Schrondweiler and Nommern, not far from Larochette.
The driver said that he tried to evade a rabbit that had hopped onto the road. This led to the car veering off the road and crashing into a stone location marker, causing the car to barrel-roll. It finished the ordeal on its roof in a field by the side of the road.
Luckily however, the driver was only slightly injured and a medical team from Larochette arrived at the scene and took the man to hospital.
An breathalyser test was positive and the man had his licence condiscated for drunk driving.
Meanwhile firefighters and police cleared the accident site.
