The American Chamber of Commerce to Luxembourg is to host an evening event exploring the social security benefits of expats in Luxembourg.
At European level, regulations have been adopted to coordinate the social security schemes of the various EU Member States and ensure adequate social protection, thereby facilitating free movements of workers across the EU.
For non-EU citizens, bilateral agreements have been concluded between Luxembourg and some countries, notably the US.
“Am I, as a US expat in Luxembourg, entitled to a pension for the years I worked in Luxembourg?”
“I am on a temporary secondment in Luxembourg. What are my rights to Luxembourg family benefits?”
“Am I entitled to the reimbursement of health care costs if I wish to return to my home country to have surgery?”
