There is good news for owners of electric vehicles as Luxembourg is to install up to 850 public recharging terminals over the coming five years.
The electric vehicle charging stations are to be spread across the Grand Duchy, with a certain concentration at P+R car parks and stations.
Responding to a parliamentary question, Secretary of State for Economy Francine Closener said that the proposed number could also be supplemented with additional stations if communes wish.
These stations will have to be funded by the communes, however.
Steps are underway to finalise where the recharding terminals will be located and how they will be operated and maintained.
There are currently thought to be 74 electric vehicle recharging stations in Luxembourg, with 187 plugs.
