International corporate law firm Eversheds Sutherland has opened an office in Luxembourg as part of the firm's long-term vision that foresees the building of a strategic global platform.

investment funds partners José Ignacio Pascual Gutiérrez and Viviane de Moreau d’Andoy are joining Eversheds Sutherland's Luxembourg office along with five associates.
The Luxembourg team will initially focus on investment fund and corporate work.
Gutierrez specialises in investment funds formation work, whereas De Moreau d'Andoy's expertise is linked to traditional assets funds and international property rights such as royalties.
The Luxembourg office -- along with the opening of two offices in Russia, Moscow and Saint Petersburg -- is part of what Eversheds' co-chief executive Lee Ranson called a "key element" of the firm's 2020 strategy.
"Luxembourg and Russia are both a natural fit for us in terms of our client base, practice strength and geography," Ranson said about the expansion.
The opening of the three European offices follows the launch of a Dusseldorf office last month -- the fourth in Germany -- the merger of Eversheds and Sutherland finalised in February and the launch of Eversheds Harry Elias in Singapore and Brunei earlier this summer.
Headquartered in London, Eversheds Sutherland is a global 40 law practice with 66 offices in 32 countries.
