The Luxembourger Philippe Schaus, 54, was appointed yesterday at the head of Moët Hennessy.
The former CEO of LVMH subsidiary DFS, a luxury travel retailer, which operates 13 duty-free shops in international airports, is heading towards the renowned wine and spirits department.
Sales of its Moët & Chandon, Krug, Veuve Clicquot, Hennessy, Château d'Yquem and Château Cheval Blanc products among others generated €4.9 billion in revenue in 2016.
The Luxembourg native, a graduate of the INSEAD business school, who became a banker in 1987 at JP Morgan, will now be in charge of those brands' management.
LVMH Executive Committee
Schaus then joined the consulting firm Boston Consulting Group. In 1992, he moved to Villeroy & Boch as international sales manager and then climbed the ranks to become a board member.
Schaus joined the luxury group LVMH in 2003 as Europe President of Louis Vuitton, then International Director and then Deputy General Manager of Leather Goods.
In 2011, he moved to Hong Kong and the DFS Group's headquarters and became CEO the following year, at the same time, he joined the LVMH's executive committee.
