Motorists are warned to plan ahead this weekend when a number of motorway sections will be closed to traffic for maintenance work.
The A13 motorway
From 7pm on July 17 to 6am on July 20, the Esch and Croix de Bettembourg junctions on the A13 will be closed in both directions to all traffic from the A1 motorway.
This means it will not be accessible for traffic travelling:
from the A4, between the Esch junction and Croix de Bettembourg;
from the A13 motorway, between the Croix de Bettembourg towards the Esch junction, between the Croix de Bettembourg and the Burange exit.
Traffic will be diverted via the A3, A6 and A4 motorways.
The A1 motorway
The A1 motorway at the Potaschberg junction, in the
east of the country, will be completely closed to traffic at the
weekend due to roadworks, with diversions in place.
The closure will
be enforced from Friday, July 17, at 5pm, to Monday, July 20, at 6am and will
affect traffic in both directions.

Luxembourg
From Friday, July
17, from 5pm until Monday, July 20, at 6am, all traffic approaching from
Trier heading to Luxembourg will be blocked between the Potaschberg
and Flaxweiler junction. A diversion will be in place sending traffic
onto the CR142 and back onto the motorway at the Flaxweiler
junction.

Roadworks begin
two hours later in the direction of Trier starting at 7pm on Friday
and ending at 6am on Monday, July 20. The motorway will be blocked at
Potaschberg and traffic will be diverted off exit slip roads and back
again further on.
During the the
roadworks, traffic on the N1 road and the exit roads, and for traffic
approaching from Luxembourg, will be controlled by traffic lights.
