Three German Shepherds and two chihuahuas were abandoned outside an animal refuge on Monday morning.
The three German Shepherd puppies and two female chihuahuas were found by staff at the Dudelange animal shelter.
What made matters worse, the owners had tried to make the animals go over the fence into the refuge, a shelter spokesperson said.
The five dogs are being cared for by the shelter and will soon be put up for adoption.
The shelter said that it would file a complaint with police and is asking for anyone who saw the person or people who left the animals to come forward.
Anyone with information should call the Dudelange shelter on 516121-847 or email info@asile.lu
