(MH) With the French National Day coming up on July 14, trucks are prohibited from circulating on Luxembourg's motorways in direction of France, with long queues expected near the border.
Since July 19, 1997, a Luxembourgish law limits heavy goods vehicle traffic in direction of Germany and France on Sundays and the neighbouring countries's public holidays.
Luxembourg Police have announced that enhanced controls will be carried out on the A6 and on the A1 for Bastille Day, which could lead to traffic delays.
Drivers are therefore warned to expect long queues when planning a journey tomorrow as trucks will be controlled driving into Luxembourg from the German border and crossing into France from the Grand Duchy.
Lorry traffic will be restricted starting 9.30pm on Monday evening until 9.45pm on Bastille Day on Tuesday.
