(CS/DL) A corner of Place d'Armes near the newly refurbished Court of Auditors is to be redesigned starting September.
After three years of renovation, the Court of Auditors in Place d'Armes is nearing completion, with construction works to end at the start of next year.
Since they began, a corner of Place d'Armes, called Jan Palach square, has also been blocked off.
Named after a Czech student who committed self-immolation in 1969 in protest against the end of the Prague Spring, the square featured amphitheatre-style seating and a 1903 monument dedicated to two Luxembourg poets.
While the Dicks-Lentz memorial, in honour of Edmond de la Fontaine (known by his pen-name Dicks) and Michel Lentz will remain, the rest of the square will be completely renovated.
A water feature will be added, while the amphitheater-style seating will make way for benches and a more open design. Work is set to begin in September.
