(CS/DL) With the Ban de Gasperich a whole new neighbourhood will be added to Luxembourg City with construction at the site progressing.
The new PwC HQ so far is the only landmark at the Ban de Gasperich, after opening its doors to employees in September last year. However, work has been going on elsewhere. For example, the Boulevard Kockelscheuer, which will run across the site, has been partly paved near the PwC HQ, where the tram is also set to roll, with preparation work underway in the east corner near the Gluck roundabout.
Earth filling work has begun at the French school campus, where pupils are expected to study from 2017, and the shopping centre, which should open towards the end of 2018.
The whole area measures 80 hectares, of which around half will be built-up while the other half is reserved for green areas.
Office space will account for 375,000 sqm, housing for 120,000 sqm and shops for 80,000 sqm. Public facilities will occupy 60,000 sqm with new hotels in the area covering 10,000 sqm.
