(CS) US coffee chain Starbucks is to open its first Luxembourg shop at the airport in Findel, operator lux-Airport revealed on Tuesday.
Lux-Airport at a press conference on Tuesday morning presented its new concept for duty free shopping and restaurant services at the terminal in Findel.
The airport's offer is to undergo a complete overhaul, with Oberweis to open a shop and retaurant, Among the other companies listed for restaurant services are UK bakery chain Panopolis (another first for Luxembourg), Lux Brewery, Moselier and Petit Moselier, and Starbucks.
Some 1,100m² will be dedicated to restaurant services that will be operated together with international food travel specialist SSP.
Duty free shopping will be taken over by French company Lagardère Services, which is set to invest two million euros in a facelift for 849m² of retail surface.
Book, kiosk and tobacco products will be sold in partnership with Valora Luxembourg on 124m². Here, too, a new concept will be used, tested at Zurich airport, with environmentally friendly material, a clear layout and friendly atmosphere.
The surface area used up by shopping and restaurant services will grow by 20 percent to cover more than 2,000m².
An important addition will be an offer of food and drink in the non-Schengen boarding area, where there are currently only vending machines.
Renovation will get fully underway during the winter season, with the project to be completed by spring 2016.
