(ADW) A motorbike accident on the Sauer Viaduct linking Luxembourg to Germany left the rider with only minor injuries, but caused major traffic disruption during rush hour on Monday.
The incident on the bridge that the A1 motorway, or A64 in Germany, travels over, could not have happened at a worse time at about 5.30pm.
Following the accident traffic was completely blocked while a helicopter arrived to transport the rider to hospital, however it was discovered later that he suffered only from minor injuries.
One lane opened up for traffic shortly after the accident but as the accident occurred in heavy rush-hour traffic, a major traffic jam formed stretching both sides of the border.
It was only an hour later at about 6.30pm both lanes were reopened, and traffic could flow freely again.
