Elderly couple seriously hurt in attempted burglary

(ADW) An elderly couple were seriously hurt when they were confronted by two burglars in their own home at the weekend. Police are appealing for help in catching the culprits.

An attempted burglary in a home in Senningen on Saturday afternoon, ended abruptly when the thieves came face to face with the house owners.

In the burglars' struggle to flee the scene in rue du Château, the elderly couple were reported to have been seriously injured in the scuffle.

According to evidence available to police, four people took part in the burglary with two entering the house, and the other two waiting in a getaway car nearby. This was believed to have been a new model of the Mercedes A-Class, dark in colour.
