(MH) Following the success of the past years, the Luxembourg City Cinémathèque's City Open Air Cinema will return to the capital from July 24 to August 15, taking place under the stars of cool summer nights.
The Open Air Cinema will be shown at two different locations, with one outside the Grand-Ducal Palace and one in the more intimate courtyard of the Capucins Theatre. Giant screens, more than 500 seats and free entry will guarantee an ultimate outdoor cinema experience. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase thanks to a collaboration with the Chocolate House and the Capucins Café and so-called Open Air Survival Kits will be handed to the audience in case of bad weather.
The screenings outside the Palace take place from July 24 - August 1 and the Capucins Theatre welcomes guests during the weekends of August 6-8 and August 13-15. All screenings start at 9.30pm.

With a total of 15 films, the programme offers something for everyone who fancies a cosy movie night in a cool and starry scenery. Lovers of old classics will enjoy films such as Gentleman Prefer Blondes, starring Marilyn Monroe, and The Troops of St. Tropez, starring Louis de Funès. Fans of the Rocky Horror Picture Show will be handed fan bags whose content remains secret until the screening. Guardians of the Galaxy and Cinderella are among the more recent films that will take the audience to different worlds.
While all movies are shown in their original version, most also feature subtitles so that everyone can enjoy the experience. For full programme, see below.
