(ADW) After a period of very high temperatures, Luxembourg’s official weather service, Méteolux is warning of “severe thunderstorms” Sunday afternoon and evening “sometimes violent”.
These storms
could well be accompanied by hailstones and strong winds, continues Méteolux in their report.
The original announcement
actually states storm warnings from 12pm, but at the time of writing this
article (at 2pm) there seems little signs of a storm, just cloudy-ish skies and
possibly a little more “breeze” than of recent.
Still, the Méteolux
website insists the storm is coming complete with rain, hail and violent gusts
of winds, therefore it is good to be prepared.
Despite the forecast, temperatures will remain high on Sunday making the
decision difficult as to what to wear should it rain. Maximum temperatures
between 32 and 35°C are predicted, not much different to previous days.
Once again,
according to Méteolux the storm should already be upon us (now, just after 2pm) and be over by about
midnight. Could they be working in a different time zone?
And
afterwards?
The atmosphere will inevitably be
refreshed after this
‘stormy period’ and temperatures
on Monday will range between 22° C
and 24° C. But the
sky will be clear again since Météolux announced
a "beautiful and dry weather with a few clouds."
Tuesday will see
thermometers rise once again but still pleasant between 28 and 30°C. It will be
a fine and dry day, but will gradually cloud over and a chance of rain is
announced for the evening.
