(CS) A suspect has been identified after a months-long investigation, connected to a so-called distributed denial-of-service attack at the Luxembourg Centre for Educational Testing.
In a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, system bandwidth or resources are flooded with traffic, making it unavailable to its intended users.
Such an attack was carried out against the Luxembourg Centre for Educational Testing (LUCET) on November 18 last year, bringing to a halt standardised school exams, the “épreuve standarisé” held at the time.
The tests had to be taken at a later date because of the incident.
Following the attack LUCET filed charges against an unknown suspect. An investigation of the criminal police's new technologies team has now yielded results with a suspect identified by police.
