The sky over Luxembourg City was on fire with colour on Monday night for the traditional National Day eve fireworks display.
Colours from the country's flag appeared as motifs throughout the 17-minute display as fountains of fire and even a giant '60' in a nod to Grand Duke Henri's landmark birthday this year, played out overhead.
The display added fire and energy to what was a wet and grey evening. Earlier in the evening, a torchlight parade was led through the City centre involving Scouts and a number of other community groups.
Luxembourg's Royal Family was joined by numerous dignitaries on a covered stage area from which they were able to enjoy the pyrotechnics in relative comfort.
Elsewhere, citizens filled the streets, equipped with waterproof coats, wellington boots and umbrellas.
The usual street parties were somewhat muted compared to previous years but, inside the bars and cafés of the capital, the national day spirit was just as lively as ever.
