Luxembourg's very first Irish store was officially inaugurated on Saturday with Irish Ambassador to Luxembourg Peadar Carpenter the guest of honour.
ÉireLux Food and Drink Supplies cash & carry shop in Howald's rue des Bruyères was bustling with curious customers for the opening party where tasters were handed out.
Opened by Irish importer Vincent Clarke in April, ÉireLux offers 400m2 of shop space featuring hundreds of favourite home brands as well as some new brands coming out of Ireland.
In addition to providing easier access to Irish brands and produce, the shop will also serve an important community function, having agreed to sell stock on behalf of sports clubs, including the Hockey Club Luxembourg, Gaelic Sports Club Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Rugby Club.
