Ahead of Luxembourg's main national day celebrations on Monday evening, two towns will be rolling out the red carpet for members of the Royal Family.
During the day, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa will pay a visit to Mondorf-les-Bains, Luxembourg's sixth biggest town, located on the border with France.
The Grand Ducal couple will visit the recently restored synagogue as well as a day centre for children and adults with mental disabilities and a care home for the elderly.
In a symbolic nod to the fact the town straddles Luxembourg and France, they will meet the mayor of the French town of Mondorff, Rachel Zirovnik, and its councillors.
The Grand Duchess will officially open the annexe of an after-school centre, part of the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa primary school, after which some local firefighters will be awarded medals for their service.
Esch-sur-Alzette
Meanwhile, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie will visit Luxembourg's second biggest town, Esch-sur-Alzette, where at 5pm they will place a wreath beside the monument to the fallen in “Place de la Résistance”.
Afterwards, they will lead a cortège through the town to the Town Hall where, later in the day, the couple will greet the public from the balcony.
There will be plenty of festivities during the course of the evening, with live music and fireworks at 11pm.
