Online crowdfunding website Kickstarter has finally come to Luxembourg, after the Grand Duchy was one of five European countries to be given access to the platform on Tuesday.
The US website, which was launched in 2009, is a meeting place for founders of creative projects, such as films, games, music, art, design and technology, to find financial backers.
Since launching, Kickstarter has helped fund 87,000 creative projects through donations pledged on the site by 8.9 million people.
In addition to rolling out the services in Luxembourg, projects in Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Belgium can now also benefit from the crowdfunding platform.
Kickstarter has had a European presence for some time. Prior to Tuesday, Kickstarter was available in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
