Head to the 'Braderie' - Luxembourg's grand street fair
The 88th edition of the Braderie will take place on Monday September 4 near the Gare district, an event not to be missed by shopaholics and those looking to experience a Luxembourgish tradition.

The annual Braderie --Luxembourg's annual grand street fair -- returns to Luxembourg City on Monday along the streets near the Gare district.
From 8am to 7pm, local vendors will put up stands outside of their shops in which they will sell their goods at a reduced price, with a wide range of ware on offer, from clothing and accessories, to beauty products and multimedia.
406 traders, 15 associations and nine political parties will participate at the 88th edition of the Braderie, an event that attracts large crowds looking to bag a good bargain.
And in the run up to the Braderie on Monday good deals will already be available during the weekend, with shops opening their doors on Saturday and on "Fouer" Sunday.

A Luxembourgish tradition
The Braderie is a yearly grand street fair and a key social event that gathers thousands of people from the Grand-Duchy and the Greater Region.
It is the oldest and biggest of its kind in the country and always falls on Kiermessmeindeg (local fair Monday) during the Schueberfouer funfair.
Launched in 1929 it is the largest commercial event in the Grand-Duchy and one of the largest in Europe, second only to Lille, in France.
More than shopping
The Braderie is not only about finding a good bargain, but is also a social event and an opportunity for residents returning from the summer break to catch up before school starts.
On the day, several stands will also organise competitions to win several prizes.
Once shops close their doors, festivities will continue in the rue Glesener from 7 pm for an after-Braderie celebration.
How to get there
On September 4 the area around the Gare will be blocked to traffic. In order to get there, taking a bus is the best option. Alternatively, you can hop on a "Vel'oh" bike.
Luxembourg City buses and a selection of regional buses will be free during the weekend and on Monday. For full details, visit www.vdl.lu.
The underground parkings Place de l'Europe and Fort Wedell will also offer free parking on Monday.
