(CS/L.E.) The city of Esch/Alzette has launched a new citizens' forum online to allow residents to discuss integration and other local issues.
The platform www.dialog.esch.lu was devised together with the commune's integration committee and presented by alderman Dan Codello on Monday.
Its main feature is a questionnaire, which should take around 30 minutes to complete, asking residents about their feelings on integration in the country's second city.
Following the negative outcome of the June 7 referendum on foreigner voting rights, Codello said, it was important to show that concerns and needs of citizens were being taken seriously. “Maybe the message of June 7 is that you should continuously deal with integration policy,” he added.
The survey is set to be available online shortly, in German, French and Portuguese.
The platform will also allow exchange on more specific topics, such as safety concerns. The website is moderated by the city and inappropriate comments will be removed.
