Luxembourg Police will be checking motorists have all the necessary paperwork onboard when they operate checks in luxembourg from June 15 to 22.
Motorists in Luxembourg are obliged to carry documentation proving that the vehicle they are driving is insured, registered somewhere (carte grise) and has passed the compulsory road-worthiness test (contrôle technique). Additional rules apply to vehicles which are imported.
They should also carry a full driving licence at all times.
The controls form part of a wider road safety strategy which will see a number of other focused controls carried out in June.
Police will also be raising awareness about the new driving penalty system introduced in Luxembourg on May 22, which introduces sanctions for the first time for some offences and increases the severity of penalties for others.
For the entire duration of the month of June, police will also be operating sporadic checks on two-wheeled vehicles.
