Prince Félix turns 31

(CS) To mark the birthday of Prince Félix on Wednesday, the Luxembourg royal household has released a new set of pictures of the 31-year-old together with his wife and daughter.

Prince Félix was born June 3, 1984, at the “Grande-Duchesse Charlotte” maternity ward. He is the second out of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa's five children.

The prince went to primary school in Lorentzweiler, before attenting the “École Privée Notre Dame (Sainte-Sophie) de Luxembourg” and then the American School of Luxembourg, which is now known as the International School of Luxembourg.

He completed his secondary school studies at the “Collège Alpin International Beau Soleil” where he also met his future wife, Claire Lademacher.

The pair celebrated their church wedding on September 21, 2013, in the south of France. On June 15, 2014, their first child, Princess Amalia, was born in Luxembourg.

The couple currently live near Lorgues in France, where they manage the Lademacher family's Château Les Crostes wine estate.

Previously, the prince started military training at the Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst in the UK, but had to leave the programme for health reasons. Félix then completed a number of internships before joining a Swiss events management company in marketing and PR.

Félix has also successfully studied for a Master in Bioethics, a field which his wife Claire has also researched.

The prince speaks Luxembourgish, English, German and Italian, as well as having studied Spanish.

He joins the Grand Ducal family at royal engagements whenever his schedule permits. He most recently travelled to the Cannes film festival to visit the Luxembourg pavilion there.

Prince Félix, like many other members of the family, enjoys sports, playing tennis, football and volleyball, as well as golf and basketball. He is also a keen skier and snowboarder.
