Luxembourg performers from the New World Theatre Club have scooped an impressive third place at the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies (FEATS) in Hamburg.
The theatre troupe were awarded the BATS Trophy for their rendition of The Strange Horseman by Michel de Ghelderode, directed by John Brigg.
Wort theatre reviewer Erik Abbott described the show as an “obscure, quaint and bizarre little play immediate and accessible,” when it was performed over two sell-out nights in Bourglinster, in Luxembourg in May.
And it seems to have hit the spot with judges from the annual FEATS festival.
First place went to In Players International, Amsterdam, with Virtual Reality by Alan Arkin, directed by Sandy Topzand and second to Stockholm Players for their production of The Dice by Forbes Bramble, directed by Nigel Harvey.
