(AFP) One person was killed and two others were seriously injured by bullets fired by a drunk gunman who opened fire in the street north of Metz, on Saturday night.
According to police, he alleged gunman opened fire with a 9mm caliber gun at around 10pm in a street in Woippy, a district north of Metz, in France.
Police have confirmed that a young woman of 25 died on thoe spot, while another victim, aged 30, is fighting for his life after receiving a bullet to the head.
A third victim, aged around 20, received a bullet in the abdomen, while a fourth person received minor injuries, police said.
The alleged shooter was arrested by police and was treated in hospital for injuries, the nature of which have not been revealed by police.
French police were unable to comment on the suspected gunman's motivations, saying simply that an investigation is underway.
