Wort's on – Weekend events
The ING Night Marathon is the main event of the weekend, but there are lots of other things going on, such as the Do-It-Yourself festival, the army's annual march, concerts, film screenings and more.

CINEMA
May 29: Short Film Marathon, Cinémathèque, from 6pm
Ahead of the ING Night Marathon there will be a short film marathon at the Luxembourg City Cinémathèque, with nine hours of the best short films from around the world kicking off at 6pm. Entry is free all night.
May 31: Cinémathèque
The regular Cinémathèque programme resumes on Sunday with the English line-up including a children's screening of Charlie Chaplin's The Circus at 3pm, followed at 5pm by Clint Eastwood's Letters from Iwo Jima and Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing at 8.30pm.
MUSIC
May 29: TOTO, Rockhal, doors open 7pm
Tickets were still available at the time of publication for TOTO at the Rockhal on Friday. In their 38-year band history, the group have released 17 albums, selling over 35 million copies around the world. They return with their classics but also tracks off their latest record. May 29: Matisyahu, den Atelier, doors open 8pm
From White Plains, NY, rapper Matisyahu will bring his reggae, rock, hip hop fusion sounds to Luxembourg on his world tour. Read more about the artist and book tickets here.
May 31: Voices International, Trifolion – Echternach, 5pm
Join Voices International – an international choir based in Luxembourg – for the start of their spring concert series “In Tune with the Elements”. Tickets are available here. Read more about the choir on voicesinternational.lu
EXHIBITIONS
May 29 - 31: Quartier3, Esch/Alzette - Place Norbert Metz
A group of artists have transformed a 114-year-old house facing demolition in Esch/Alzette into a walk-in work of art. The house opens on Friday evening at 6pm and is open Saturday and Sunday, as well as the following two weekends. Read more about the project here or visit the Facebook page.
until May 31: Franz Erhard Walther, Mudam
This is the closing weekend of Franz Erhard Walther's exhibition “Architektur mit weichem Kern”. The artist himself will be on site hosting a talk in English at 11.30am on Sunday. Read more here.
until June 7: Signs of the Latvian Soul, Neimënster
Discover traditional Latvian dress, music, song and dance at this exhibition hosted in cooperation with the office of the Latvian EU presidency, the Latvian embassy and the Latvian cultural centre. Read more about the exhibition here.
until September 20: Guest Work – Francisco de Zurbarán, MNHA
MNHA in Luxembourg City is hosting a guest work by 17th Century Spanish artist Francisco de Zurbanán. The Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian features in the museum's permanent exhibition as part of an initiative to bring other works from private and public collections to the museum. Read more on mnha.lu
OTHER
May 30: Do-It-Yourself Festival, Kulturfabrik – Esch/Alzette, 2pm to 9pm
Learn something new at the Do-It-Yourself Festival at the Kulturfabrik in Esch/Alzette. A number of workshops will be available, with everyone encouraged to bring something for a joint meal at the end of the day. For more information visit the event Facebook page or reskillingluxembourg.com
May 30: ING Night Marathon, Luxembourg City, from 7pm
Luxembourg City will transform into a marathon course on Saturday night, with samba groups cheering runners on along the way and providing entertainment for the crowds coming to watch. May 30 & 31: “Marche internationale de Diekirch”, Al Seeërei – Diekirch
Join the Luxembourg army on its annual march through north Luxembourg this weekend. Different routes are available covering 12, 20, 40 or 80 kilometres over one or two days. Read more here and sign up on marche.lu
May 30 & 31: “Festival multiculturel”, Differdange
Taste food from Cameroon, Portugal, Brazil, Togo, Thailand, Italy and Mexico at this town festival, which will also feature music and dance performances throughout the day. Visit differdange.lu for the full line-up.
