(CS) Luxembourg's Environment and Culture Ministries have promised to help find a suitable site for the Food For Your Senses festival, after the 2015 edition had to be cancelled.
The festival moved from Tuntange to Roost, near Bissen, in 2013 and was also held there last year. However, the festival found itself homeless and in need of a new site for 2015. Efforts to find a suitable location failed, especially over environmental concerns.
In response to a parliamentary question, Culture Minister Maggy Nagel commented that the ministry had been made aware of the search for a new location, but had not known about the urgency of the situation. Only in the press did the ministry learn that the event had been cancelled.
Environment Minister Carole Dieschbourg meanwhile said that she had not been contacted.
At a press conference earlier this year, organiser Luka Heindrichs had commented: “I don't know how many emails, phone calls or meetings with minister we had, but feedback and support this year has been completely non-existent.”
Both ministers have now pledged to help festival organisers find a suitable site for the 2016 edition of the festival, which both hope will once again be a full success.
A meeting has been scheduled with the Food For Your Senses organisers at the Environment Ministry.
For this year, FFYS has been turned into a concert weekend, incorporated into the Fête de la Musique on June 21 and 22 in Place Clairefontaine in Luxembourg City.
