Luxembourg, a top country for live cultural event attendance
It seems that Luxembourg is one of the most cultural countries in the EU when it comes to attending live performances, according to new figures released by Eurostat.

It seems that Luxembourg is one of the most cultural
countries in the EU when it comes to attending live performances, according to
new figures released by Eurostat.
In fact, the Grand-Duchy comes in second for attending at
least four live events a year, such as concerts, dance shows and theatre. No
less than 26.8 per cent of the population attend performances, the statistics
shows.
The only country to beat Luxembourg was Slovenia which scored 27.7 per cent. Right behind the Grand-Duchy was Finland at 23.9 percent, and Austria
21.8 per cent.
However, stepping out of the European Union, Switzerland
tops the entire list at a whopping 37 per cent, followed by Iceland at 32.9
per cent.
At the other end of the scale, Poland’s rate shows just 3.7
per cent of the population attended cultural events, followed by Greece at 4.6
per cent.
Across
the EU, 13.6 per cent of the population attended at least four live performances
over the course of a year.
Although
the figures have just been released, they related to statistics gathered in
2015.
