The inhabitants of
Greiveldingen have been celebrating their "Léiffrawëschdag", the Feast of the Assumption of Saint Mary the Virgin, since 1985.
Even if the 33rd edition brought a bit of rain, the village centre was filled with visitors especially in the afternoon hours.
During the Mass, celebrated by Pastor Daniel Graul, bread, wine and bouquets of herbs laid before the altar were blessed, according to old traditions.
As in previous years, after the Mass, the herb bouquets sold like hot cakes especially as the proceeds went to the children charity "En Häerz fir kriibskrank Kanner".
For the Domaines Vinsmoselle of the Stadtbredimus commune it was already the 58th wine blessing, and bread and wine were offered to all guests.
The fourth tractor meeting took place by the wash fountain and the Crazy Cube Ensemble performed during the aperitif, while visitors had a typically Luxembourgish lunch in the tent.
In addition to the exhibition "L'Art du Corps" by Carmen Dieschbourg, about 60 craftsmen and hobbyists, as well as entertainment for both children and adults, without forgetting all the day's musical performances, young and old could thoroughly enjoy themselves at the "Léiffrawëschdag" in Greiveldingen.
