Luxembourg police didn't get much of a Christmas break as several burglaries, drunk drivers and and accidents were reported across the country over the past two days.
Break-ins to homes in Esch-sur-Alzette, Diekirch and Reisdorf were some of the reported burglaries on Christmas Eve. In one particular case in Differdange a burglar was caught in the act by a family returning home, but managed to escape undetected.
Two minor road accidents were reported in Esch-sur-Alzette and Steinfort and in both cases the drivers were found to be under the influence of alcohol and their licences were confiscated.
A more serious accident occurred on Christmas Day on a stretch if road between Biwer and Boudlerbach when a driver managed to lose complete control of his car and flip it over, coming to a halt on its roof. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
