Luxembourg has assisted in transporting humanitarian supplies to Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, to help those affected by the Ebola virus outbreak.
The country's defence ministry provided the United Nations with strategic airlifting support the delivery made with the help of an Antonov AN-124, which flew from the UN logistics base in Brindisi, Italy, on November 3.
The flight unloaded its cargo in three Africian cities on November 4 and 5, with Luxembourg's Defence ministry confirming that it was a success.
The support was offered afteran international call for military capabilities to deliver the shipment.
The shipment includes 1 million euros' worth of medical vehicles, communications equipment and other equipement to support the the UN's mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) and the World Food Programme (WFP).
