The International School Luxembourg has won a sustainability award for its new lower school building, which opened in 2013.
The building, which comprised 36 classrooms, a gymnasium, autorium and canteen and cost 40 million euros, was awarded silver certification by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). The body, founded in Stuttgart in 2007, recognised environmentally friendly and economically efficient buildings, assessing structures on 50 different factors ranging from pollution control to integration of public art.
