Six people were injured, two of them seriously and included children, when two cars crashed at Biff tunnel on the N13 in the direction of Pettange.
According to the police report just before 11pm on Saturday, the driver of one car lost complete control and veered over to the other side of the road where it violently struck another car travelling in the opposite direction.
Two occupants were in the first car that crashed in tot the second transporting four people in total, two of them children.
Two people were seriously injured although it has been reported that their injuries are not life-threatening.
All six victims were transported to hospital.
The driver who caused the accident was later discovered to have been under the influence of alcohol.
