(AFP) Votes cast for and against Scotland's independence in a historic referendum were running virtually neck and neck, early results showed on Friday as the count continued, but leading "No" campaigners suggested that victory was in sight.
With 13 percent of the votes counted, the ballots in favour of Scotland staying in the United Kingdom were in the lead by a sliver at 50.95 percent to 49.05 percent.
