Despite the holiday lull in music gigs, Hollerich venue CarréRotondes has rustled up an unmissable concert for August 27 when Dublin four-piece Funeral Suits headline.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, chances are the music will. Take a listen of catchy tracks such as “All those friendly people” and even if they weren't top of your play list before, they may soon be.
Composed of Brian James, Mik McKeogh, Greg McCarthy and Dar Grant, Funeral Suits recorded their first album, “Lilly of the Valley”, in 2012, a combination of harmonious pop, art rock and electronica which has earned them comparisons to Muse, Echo and the Bunnymen and even U2.
It was produced by acclaimed producer Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths) and released on Model Citizen records.
In the past Funeral Suits have supported acts such as Franz Ferdinand, Passion Pit, The Maccabees and Local Natives. The August 27 concert will be a chance for them to shine in their own right.
Funeral Suits are supported by French act CAPTURE, from Nancy.
The concert takes place at Carré Rotondes from 9.30pm. Tickets cost 12/14 euros.
