(AFP) Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern believes his centre-left party can win a majority in elections on October 15 despite polls suggesting a close three-way race with the conservatives and the far-right.

"I am convinced that we have a good chance of winning a majority in this election," Kern told the Austria Press Agency (APA) in an interview published on Sunday.
