Students from St George's International School won 12 gold medals when they competed in the International Unified Football Tournament last weekend.
Battling 11 other teams from across Europe in the seventh International Unified Football Tournament in Gnas, Austria last week, St George’s were placed in the B Division alongside teams from Austria and Italy.
In their six league games St George’s won four, drew one and lost one which meant they qualified for the final in their league. In this game they met a strong girl’s team from Graz which included several players linked to the professional club Sturm Graz. After a very hard fought final, St George’s eventually won 4-0, scoring two late goals.
The St George's team did a brilliant job throughout and should be very proud of their achievement, bringing back 12 gold winners’ medals and a large gold trophy. This is the second success for St George’s in as many weeks following their win in the COBIS primary school games.
