Details of a new park to be built on Luxembourg City's Ban de Gasperich site and costing €16 million were revealed at a commune meeting on Monday.
The park will cover at least 14.9 hectares and include a 7,000 sq. metre
lake.
There will be a mixture
of open and shaded wooded areas to be developed near a
restaurant zone.
The new park will be accessible by 4.5 kilometres of path networks for both pedestrians and
cyclists.
A large
playground for all ages will be constructed together with a
multi-sports field, beach volleyball courts, a petanque terrain, and fitness
zone.
A picnic and lawn area
to host events will also be developed. And for those that enjoy a
good barbecue there's good news as the commune stated that it is not
opposed to their use.
Finally, there will also be public
toilets at two locations, rounding up a plan of what promises to be
an attractive new park in Gasperich.
However, a time frame for when the park will be completed has not been disclosed.
