Prepaid SIM card users in Luxembourg have until July 12 to register with their operator
The application of a new law that aims to fight criminality means that everyone using a prepaid SIM card with a Luxembourgish number will need to identify themselves to their operators or have their cards deactivated.
Users of prepaid SIM cards with Luxembourgish numbers have until July 12 to register with their mobile operators or will have their card deactivated.
A new law passed on 7 June 2017, which is an amendment to the law of 27 February 2011 on electronic communications networks and services, now makes it compulsory for operators to deactivate SIM cards with non-identified users.
