Luxembourg’s Raiffeisen bank has taken the decision to close
three of its branches by the end of the year, according to a recent report.
The information was revealed in a report by RTL, but despite
the announcement, when contacted by Luxemburger Wort, Raiffeisen board member
Yves Biewer stated that no jobs are
threatened.
The branches affected are those in Clervaux in the north of
the country, Wormeldange in the east, and Noerdange in the west of Luxembourg.
The plan for the Clervaux branch is to transfer it to a
shopping centre nearby in Marnach, where it will share a common space with a
Post outlet.
The bank's strategy is not to reduce the number of branches, but rather to adapt to changing customer habits and strengthen
its presence at certain strategic points, Biewer explained.
Another of the announced measures will be the reinforcement
of their home visiting service, and the expansion of the Redange agency.
Raiffeisen bank currently has 41 branches in Luxembourg.
