For more than two years, the trade unions LCGB and OGBL had negotiated a new collective agreement for the hospital sector with the FHL Hospital Federation. On Wednesday evening, the negotiators breathed a sigh of relief.
"We signed the collective agreement," FHL President Paul Junck and trade unionists Céline Conter (LCGB) and Nora Back (OGBL) unanimously reported.
The new collective agreement will lead to substantial improvements for all 9,000 employees of the hospital sector.
The new model is based on direct wage increases and on a long-term better salary with improved career paths. New salary tables were created for 10 different profiles.
"All's well that ends well"
"Our expectations are met to 100 per cent. The employees receive a real enhancement of their careers, "emphasized OGBL central secretary Nora Back.
Paul Junck is also visibly satisfied. "All's well that ends well," commented the FHL president.
The negotiations had previously proved very difficult. The situation was sometimes completely blocked, so the trade unions had threatened a strike in the hospitals.
