Verdict of Luxair crash damage claims expected Tuesday
On Tuesday, January 21 the court of appeal must give its verdict on the damages demanded by families of victims of the Luxair Fokker 50 crash that happened more than eleven years ago. The amount claimed reaches a total of one million euros.

(ADW) On Tuesday, January 21 the court of appeal must give its verdict on the damages demanded by families of victims of the Luxair Fokker 50 crash that happened more than eleven years ago. The amount claimed reaches a total of one million euros.
The tragic accident that occurred on November 6, 2002 when a Luxair plane crash landed near Nidderanven, killing 20 people of whom 15 were of German nationality.
During the trial the amount of damages claimed by nine members of families whose relatives were killed in the crash was determined. One million euros was the total amount, explained Dieter Grozinger, the lawyer representing eight family members of three German passengers killed.
Grozinger claimed between 80,000 and 130,000 euros per person, depending on the degree of kinship to the victims. "I hope the family can finally draw a veil over this tragedy," he stated while in Luxembourg.
“People continue to suffer due to the accident”. Damages represent "a moral recognition of this suffering," concluded the lawyer.
