(CS) The who's who of Luxembourg's diplomatic and political circles gathered at the US Embassy to Luxembourg on Monday evening for Ambassador Robert A Mandell's annual Christmas party.
New Family and Integration Minister Corinne Cahen enjoyed a glass of crémant together with fellow DP party member and EY Managing Partner Alain Kinsch, who was part of the party's delegation during coalition negotiations.
Michelin-star chef Léa Linster was also among the roughly 200 guests who flocked to the ambassador's residence in Limpertsberg for the event.
Several of Mandell's diplomatic colleagues, such as Finnish Ambassador Marja Lehto, German Ambassador Christine Gläser and Japanese Ambassador Wataru Nishigahiro, nibbled on canapés and mingled with members of the American community in the Grand Duchy, as well as representatives of the financial sector, the country's media and other sectors of the economy and public life.
The Christmas party marked the end of the official events calendar of the embassy and Ambassador Mandell and Deputy Chief of Mission Jane Messenger welcomed guests with wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
