(CS) On December 16, 1944, German troops launched the Ardennes Offensive in a last effort to win the Second World War. Luxembourg marked the anniversary with a ceremony at the US military cemetery in Hamm.
The “Cercle des officiers de la garde grande-ducale” on Saturday laid a flower wreath at the cemetery in honour of all the US soldiers who fought during the Battle of the Bulge, which eventually led to Luxembourg's liberation in 1944, with Vianden the final commune to be liberated in February 1945.
